Morning Sun d'Hoël Duret convoque différents chapitres d'un récit d'anticipation sur fond 
 de crise climatique, progressant d'expositions en films, de sculptures en compositions musicales. Au sein de la MABA, une sélection d'œuvres du corpus LOW , initié en 2019, et de nouvelles productions se croisent, se répondent et s'augmentent, nous entraînant toujours plus profondément dans un monde aussi séduisant qu'équivoque. À travers LOW et les pistes narratives et formelles qui s'y amorcent, Hoël Duret dessine les contours d'un monde parallèle au nôtre. Dans ce nouveau récit qui s'écrit, se retrouvent certains des protagonistes rencontrés dans ses précédentes itérations : un renard, des méduses, des noctambules, des sculptures lumineuses, des miroirs troubles... Pourtant, leurs discours restent aussi absurdes et cryptiques qu'auparavant malgré une volonté affichée (et nouvelle) de nous délivrer un message. Un début de résolution pourra peut-être, enfin, se faire jour à l'issue du parcours. À l'ère de l'anthropocène et de l'accélération technologique, Hoël Duret explore ainsi les ressorts d'une expérience humaine contemporaine en quête de boussole. Tandis que le futur s'est déjà insinué dans le présent, que les grands repères vacillent, l'artiste scrute les signaux faibles d'une époque toujours plus indéchiffrable alors même que progressent les outils sensés l'éclairer. Avec un regard décalé, il réinvestit la capacité des outils high-tech à instiller partout de la fiction et à nourrir de nouvelles façons d'être au monde. À travers ce périple existentiel dans les limbes du numérique, l'artiste poursuit son investigation du mystère de la destinée humaine, dans un monde en déroute à la recherche de nouveaux récits.

For this exhibition at the MABA art center, a selection of artworks from the corpus LOW, started in 2019, meets, enters in dialogue and sheds light on new productions, bringing the viewer always further into an enticing and ambiguous world. Through LOW and the narrative and formal paths it opens, Hoël Duret outlines the shape of a parallel world. In this new story specifically written for the MABA, you will recognize some protagonists of his past interventions: a fox, a jellyfish, night owls, light sculptures, and blurred mirrors... However, their message remains as absurd and cryptic as before, despite their (new) apparent willingness to tell us something. The beginning of a resolution might emerge at the end of the exhibition. Combining pop aesthetics and science fiction, Hoël Duret uses a wide range of media going from video to sculpture, installation, performance, and painting. Resorting to digital tools and their already fallen utopia, he is less interested in their exponential performances than in their narrative and esthetic potential. In the era of the Anthropocene and technological acceleration, Hoël Duret explores the motivations of contemporary men in search of bearings . While the future has already insinuated itself into the present, and we are losing our grounding, the artist observes the weak signals of a time that is getting more indecipherable despite the development of tools meant to shed light on it. With a quirky take on things, Hoël Duret draws on the capacity of high-tech tools to distillate fiction everywhere and foster new ways of living. Through this existential journey into the limbs of the digital, the artist continues his investigation of the mystery of human destiny in a drifting world searching for new narratives.
