CONT#CT

Dans la Nef du CCC OD, Hoël Duret présente l'installation CONT#CT qui se situe dans le prolongement de ses récentes expositions et de son film Drop out (2020), un récit d'anticipation sur fond de crise climatique. CONT#CT nous plonge dans un environnement immersif polyphonique convoquant la vidéo, la sculpture, la peinture et la musique à travers une création sonore du compositeur Vincent Malassis. Embarquées dans un même mouvement hypnotique, les œuvres se répondent et palpitent selon le flux incessant des images qui saturent l'espace, nous entrainant au cœur d'un monde digital aussi séduisant que trouble. Cet univers étrange résonne comme un écho lointain et déformé de notre environnement familier. Hoël Duret a en effet puisé dans le répertoire infini des vidéos disponibles dans les banques de données en ligne, qui alimentent en masse le monde de la communication et des médias. Comme si tout avait déjà été filmé, ces productions aussi uniformes que tentaculaires tendent à se substituer au réel et à ses représentations. Elles dessinent un monde parallèle à la beauté lisse, qui façonne aujourd'hui le regard et formate les imaginaires. De cet environnement occupant l'ensemble de la Nef émane la voix d'une exploratrice qui semble perdue à l'intérieur des images. Elle commente son voyage dans un ailleurs inaccessible, partagée entre une fascination addictive et les doutes qui l'envahissent à mesure que sa dérive l'éloigne du réel. À travers ce périple existentiel dans les limbes du numérique, Hoël Duret poursuit son investigation du mystère de la destinée humaine, dans un monde en déroute à la recherche de nouveaux récits. In the Nave of the CCC OD, Hoël Duret presents the installation CONT#CT that follows on from his recent exhibitions and his film Drop Out (2020), a tale of anticipation against the backdrop of the climate crisis. CONT#CT plunges us into a polyphonic immersive environment that brings together video, sculpture, painting and music through a sound creation by composer Vincent Malassis. Embedded in the same hypnotic movement, the works respond to each other and pulsate according to the incessant flow of images that saturate the space, drawing us into the heart of a virtual world that is equally seductive and disturbing. This strange universe resounds like a distant and distorted echo of our familiar environment. Hoël Duret has indeed drawn from the infinite repertoire of videos available in the internet databases that fuel the world of communication and media en masse As if everything had already been filmed, these productions, as uniform as they are sprawling, tend to replace reality and its representations. They draw a world parallel to the glossy beauty that today shapes the gaze and standardises the imaginary. From this environment occupying the whole of the Nave emanates the voice of an explorer who seems lost inside the images. She comments on her journey into an inaccessible elsewhere, torn between an addictive fascination and the doubts that haunt her as she drifts away from reality. 
 Through this existential journey in the state of limbo of the digital world, Hoël Duret continues his investigation of the mystery of human destiny, in a world in disarray, in search of new narratives.
